USI Payroll was founded in 1997 as Unistaff Administration, Inc. and was originally a Professional Employer Organization. As the laws in South Carolina made it more difficult to operate as PEO we formed USI Payroll , Inc., an Organization (ASO). The ASO allowed us the flexibility we needed to serve our clients in a way that was different from our competitors. With the ASO format, we are able to provide all the services of a PEO only there is no employee leasing. This frees the client from the demands of a PEO and allows the client to remain control of their employees. By outsourcing the non-profit driving functions of their business, the client is able to focus on growth.
In 2009, we differentiated our services even further to offer a la carte services. Within this offering we can provide service levels that are customized to each client. We now have a client base that ranges from Payroll Only Services to full scale Human Resource Department services. As a result, we have become USI Payroll and feel this new format allows us to better understand and meet the needs of our clients.
USI Payroll has been built and run as a locally owned company and is not part of a larger corporation. We are proud to offer our services that are developed and based on loyalty and character. Our goal is to set ourselves apart from our competition by always offering flexible solutions and developing relationship so we are always in touch with the needs of our clients. We are thankful for every client and every worksite employee.
